Jada was Born and raised in the city of rhythm and blues, New Orleans, Louisiana. Jada’s life is dedicated to connecting with people and building relationships. Especially over food! There’s nothing like sitting down with good people and a good bowl of gumbo, topped with hot sauce and some corn bread! That’s how theatre looks in Jada’s world.
When Jada received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from Texas State University and then went to receive her Masters of Fine Arts in Acting from UC San Diego; she realized that as a Black actor not only is she fighting for her story to be told, but for her ancestors, and the black community that still fight to be heard and understood daily.
Jada boldly paints her black experiences through theatre and film, provoking conversations that dismantle racial systematic views of who a black woman is, and redefine her beauty to be one through stories she’s blessed to tell, create, and build with communities around the world. If there was one thing Jada would often say about her love for this craft it would be, “ It’s always good pot of Gumbo people will never forget.”
